This old perfume box is made of cardboard, fully lined. It is surprisingly heavy. It measures 11” long x 4” high x 7” wide. The lid is very deep and swings up and back to open, the lid is lined in black velvet like fabric, the base is paper lined in the same elegant gold and black swirl that can be seen faintly on the outside of the box.

Now and again I come across these old, creamy coloured, linen sheets. Sometimes completely plain, sometimes with a tiny red monogram for laundry purposes.

The fabric is around 100 years old but sturdy. It could be used as a sheet of course, but it is strong enough to adapt to upholstery projects, either as slip covers for chairs or as curtains.

Average size is 80" wide by 100" long. Because they are very old, and linen at the time was only woven in small widths, they often have a central seam, handsewn and running lengthwise on the sheet.

Larousse enclyopedia in two volumes

There is no date on this old encyclopedia but its pages are full of 19th century charm and patina.

The two volumes have been damaged and today they are being sold for their contents:
ideal for framing. Once pages are used for framing , the casing of

the books would still look great on a bookshelf or in a small vignette.

Each volume measures 8" x 12" x 2" and weighs 1.5 kilo.

Volume 1 contains 34, and volume 2 contains 37 full page colour plates of illustrations and maps,

and many full page black and white illustrations,

as well as innumerable small illustrations, and large monogrammed letters

for the beginning of each 'chapter'.
There is enough material here for friends to share the cost and the goodies!!

Their weight makes them expensive to post, but the investment is worthwhile

for all the great pictures it will be possible to create from the framed pages.
